Wood & Vinyl Windows
When choosing the type of window for your home, deciding between wood or vinyl can be difficult. Wood brings a natural, strong and classic look to a home yet require more maintenance, while vinyl provides a wide array of styles with lower maintenance. Each have pros and cons, but can provide energy savings, ease of functionality, and a refreshed look and feel to your home.
Genuine wood frames help to insulate a home better than almost any other kind of window. Real wood provides 400 times more insulation than steel window frames and 1,800 times as much as aluminum-frame windows. The additional insulation that real wood provides can help keep a home warm in the winter and cool in the summer and can save the homeowner on utility bills all year round. Wood-framed windows also provide an excellent barrier to outdoor sounds much more so than virtually any other frame.
However, wood frames require more ongoing care, painting and maintenance that other options and are a greater investment to purchase and have installed. Wood frames that have not been properly cared for can twist slightly or can swell with moisture, making it difficult (if not impossible) to raise or lower the window.
Vinyl windows have become the top choice across the nation for a variety of reasons. Quality vinyl windows vs. inferior ones can affect the value, safety and comfort of your home for many years. For instance, unlike wood windows, vinyl windows don’t require painting and are scratch and rot-resistant. These features make for low or no maintenance and added durability. Often, vinyl windows are pre-fabricated which both greatly reduces the price and simplifies installation. Vinyl windows come in a wide variety of colors and that they are completely customizable. For the energy conscious, energy efficient vinyl replacement window can help reduce the overall cost of cooling and heating your home. They can fade with time and are not made to absorb paint or stain. So, the color you buy is the color you stick with. The texture might not be suited for every house because it has a more plastic-like look.
We Offer the Following Window Styles:
Healthy slider windows provide a clean and simple design with optimum visibility and excellent ventilation. And since this model is sealed all the way around when shut, it boasts a low air-leakage rate and good noise reduction. There are several window configurations to choose from, and sashes can be removed for cleaning. Swing-n-slide options swing in for easy cleaning as well.
These are the most common choice for homeowners. This type features two sashes (movable panels) that slide vertically open and closed and come in one or two double hung sizes. These windows open at both the top and the bottom, which creates natural convection–cool air comes in at the bottom and warm air escapes out the top. Many models tilt inward so you can clean the panes from the inside. These windows have a center bar, which is obstructive to a full view.
Picture windows do not open, but provide a clean look with maximum light and view, and are great for keeping noise out while natural allowing light in. A small one can brighten up a stairwell, while a large one showcases a great view. These fixed style windows come in many shapes, sizes, colors and wood grains. Plus, no drafts here: It’s completely airtight.
Get the best of both worlds: a full view that also opens to the outside. We have 2, 3, and 4-Lite patio door options. Optional items include between-the-glass blinds, optional foot and/or key lock for added security, pet screen mesh, top mount screen and 2-point lock. Create the sliding door system best suited for your outdoor patio space.
Casement & Awning
Casement windows give the best and most significant visibility and offer excellent energy savings and easy cleaning from the inside with 90 degree opening. Available in a wide variety of styles and colors, casement windows no not have the “flat” casement look, but are contoured to appear like hung and slider windows.
Bay & Bow Windows
Bay and Bow windows are also an option and can add space, light and an elegant touch to your home while also adding value. Choose a bay window with double hung sides, four or five bay window, and casement flankers as options to transform your room.
